you are no longer needed

you are no longer needed,
no longer required,
an obsolete appliance
that has begun to rust and decay.
i hope you understand
i do and will forever pay my respects to you;
you were the reason i was
able to learn how to become stronger
even when i was so broken
that even the strongest glue
couldn’t even hold. without you,
i would have never known
that beneath the heartache,
were wings ready to spread out
and soar.
