Surrender

Harsh words can be forgiven
with patience and time. A tender union
before the right moment,
can be the catalyst
to a sleep riddled with tears and curses.

Heart-wrenching sobs
rip apart your chest,
the clawing thing inside of you
demanding to be let out.

You turn
your cheek when you act coy,
bit your lips with eyes clever and intent.
Prey to your advances, I could not
help but surrender
to the seductive lull
of your song–the press of your lips,
your tongue tracing spells into my neck.
A predator with pleasurable intent,
I succumb once again
to your smile edged with malice.
