Musings

Acceptance is hardly won,
A battle without weapons
But with indomitable wit that cannot
Wither or waste underneath predatory gazes,
Doors that were once firmly close
Will soon open, a white light
phosphorescent and heavenly as
It’s thin fingers reach for you.
But, but, but
The path is always bumpy with
Ravaged terrain and discarded possessions.
Blurred images with flickering lights,
Red and yellow  pictures that turn upside down
Will wish to derail you as
Those thin fingers become clawed
With thin, sharp nails like a stiletto.
Nude bodies with marks and wasting flesh
Will gyrate and spin as your resolve flickers-
Faster they will spin, eyes lost in paradise-
Bright with joy and dead as puppet-
Strings will pull you this way and that,
Urges will tip the scales but your tenacity
Will be your messiah as you jerk free
And walk right into the light.
