Words, words, words

Words, words, words,

See how the meaning of a word

can lose its meaning

after a course threes–

trees are the source of our Socrates,

our narcissistic and common-man-oriented Whitman,

it was the physical that allowed us to

become metaphysical and progressive in

our diverse mindsets–

it gave us innovations for drastic change

and for freedom–

as ink meets paper daily–

the common man can become extraordinary.

But words have become cheapened–

the secondhand couch that no one ever wants–

words have become broken and abbreviated,

easily disregarded and dismissed

without a hello or a passing thought favorite or like–

unless, unless, unless

Your words are backed up

with suave sophistication and easy elegance;

the type of professional jargon

that stifles and harms; mocks and jeers

as you stare downcast

holding the .99 cent pen and $1.99

Composition notebook.

Write for arts sake!

As the greats say, decree–

Words without true meaning

is a waste of American time

and Chinese money–

a dull billboard on a deserted highway–

now that is a waste!

Wasting a person’s precious time,

especially an American who works

nine-to-five who makes $50,000 a year

and has barely any vacation days–

so anytime you pick up a pen,

whether it may be made of gold or plastic,

write with your heart & soul; your

media-posioned mind, slowly but surely

chugging along to catch up.
